Psychotherapy for Children

Dr. Greenberg is internationally known for the development of therapy models that focus on the developmental needs of children and helping children and their families to negotiate the challenges that can arise when families are separated.  She specializes in providing forensically sound treatment to children at the center of conflict, including those who have been at the center of allegations of domestic violence or child abuse.  She can assist children in coping effectively with difficult situations while promoting healthy development and avoiding procedures that could escalate conflict or interfere with other professionals.  Since children’s development is time sensitive, early assistance may reduce the need for more involved and costly services later.

Dr. Greenberg provides a detailed therapy stipulation so that both parents and children understand the general parameters and expectations of the treatment process.  She promotes active involvement of parents in the treatment process, as consistent with the child’s needs, and provides child-centered conjoint, reunification, and family therapy.  She provides a safe space for listening to children and adolescents, enabling them to express their independent feelings, and assisting improved parent-child relationships.
